"UNTIL YOU HAVE LOVED AN ANIMAL. A PART OF YOUR SOUL REMAINS UNAWAKENED."

Hello and welcome!! I have decided to dedicate my web site to one of my passions; and that is saving the animals of this planet!! I believe that knowledge is power!! If we don't know about something, then we can't do anything about it, but once we DO know, then it is our responsibility to do something about it!!

My primary goal is to educate us all about the problems that our wildlife encounters, as well as our domestic friends, and hopefully together we CAN do something positive about it!! I believe that each individual on this planet CAN make a difference in this life, and I hope throughout this site, together WE can make a difference. I have loved animals since I was a small child, and that has grown into a passion in my adult life. I hope to someday turn my passion into a career. But for right now, I would like to share my passion with you. I hope this site enlightens you and makes you think. I also hope that you have fun here!! One of my favorite animals are WOLVES. I feel that they are very misunderstood, and are a

magnificent creature!! Just look at their society. I hope through education, that I can help them to thrive, and to no longer be destroyed. After all, the animals were here first, don't they deserve to thrive too?

I have many favorite animal sites, and will share them with you. One of those places is Shambala Preserve. I love BATS and MANATEES (which are endangered as we speak. Thousands of Manatees get killed every year by boats. They are a docile creature.) I hope that my links will help you to better understand the many creatures that need our help. I wish to thank you for visiting my web site!! I hope you learn something and have a lot of fun. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or if there is a site that you would like me to add. I hope you have a howling good day!!

Since this site IS about animals, I feel that this site would be sorely lacking if I did not have any information on pets! I love my pets, or fur babies as I like to call them. I currently have 2 dogs and 4 cats, who all get along quite well. What kind of dogs you say? Well, I have Caspar, who is a Jack Russell Terrier. (On January 15,2004, our beloved JR Caspar passed away.) Kirby Rufus, who is a Shiba Inu. And finally Lucky, who I call a Knardly. A what? Knardly, you can hardly tell what kind of dog she is. She is a most beautiful and wonderful mutt! She was a rescue dog! Ah, the cats! We have Stanley, the big Salmon Tabby and P’Nut who is a beautiful female calico. They were both found kitties! We also have Daisy Mae, who is a beautiful long haired tortoise shell, and Catsyby, a HUGE black and white male. Both these new kitties adopted us!! Part of responsible pet ownership is having your pets spayed/neutered. Unless of course you are intending to breed your dog or cat. I can assure you that all my sweet wonderful fur babies are ALL spayed and neutered, as well as go to the vet on a regular basis! They are ALL up to date on their shots.

There are too many dogs and cats that get euthanized every year! We CAN stop this from

happening! Have your cat spayed/neutered! If you cannot afford this, there are many places that offer low cost spay/neuter clinics! After all, our pets give us their unconditional love and

companionship, we should all do our very best to take care of them!

I also feel the need to talk about grief and loss. As you know, our beloved JR died this year. It was totally unexpected. Our animals are our children! And when one dies, it is very difficult. There are so many different wonderful creatures that you can choose to have as a pet. There are birds, reptiles, small furry critters; such as hamsters, mice, and even rats. Rats make WONDERFUL pets! They are extremely intelligent creatures. No matter what type of pets you have, it is very hard when they die. There are some great resources on the web to help you deal with your grief! Here is my favorite: Rainbow Bridge

No matter what your beloved fur baby is, it is important to talk about your grief and loss, and to have people that understand what it is like to loose a sweet creature. UPDATE: We had to put our beloved Lucky down Nov. 15,04. She could no longer walk, and was in great pain. We spent 2 hours cuddling with her on the floor and crying. I cut up a steak that I had made. She was at peace and was ready to go. We took her for a ride in the convertible, so she could really sniff the air, without straining. We drove down the road that was our favorite walking area as well. Then we took her to the Vets. We brought her dog bed, so she didn't have to lie on the cold table. She passed away BEFORE the Vet was finished injecting the shot. She was ready. The last thing she heard was, I love you. This was the right thing to do, but it was so hard. I will always miss her!! Our sweet little kitty Daisey Mae went missing. When we moved to the Cape, we promised her she could be an outside kitty. Well, 2 years into living here, we told her she could go outside, but there were conditions. We agreed to let her out, ONLY if she promised that she would come in at night. Which she did for a long while. And then suddenly she did not come home. I am choosing to believe that she found herself another home. Yes, she had a collar on, but it was a quick release type, so she

wouldn't get hung up. She is also missed. On a more positive note, whilst we were up in NH, a kitty adopted us!! She told us her name is Shadow, and so Shadow it is! She is a mostly black cat, with all white whiskers, and the tips of her front paws have some white. And he hind paws have a lot of white. So, we have 1 dog left; our Shiba Inu Kirby Rufus, and 4 cats. All whom are loved with all our hearts and soul!
